"Dozens," the new track from New York multi-instrumentalist Jib Kidder, was originally built around a Beach Boys sample that was too pricey to clear. Even when he ditched the loop, though, the essence of his California-paced pop song remained intact. "That the song still felt like the song after having its backbone replaced almost scares me," he writes over email. "It indicates a song is not just one controllable animal but more like an entire wild species of a thing." Watch the lyric video above. "Dozens" is off Jib Kidder's new full-length, Teaspoon To The Ocean, which drops January 27th on Weird World/ Domino.
