What do pizza, licorice, human skulls and paper-shredded dollar bills have in common? They all play a starring role in this video for Crystal Antler's "Licorice Pizza," a scrappy and ecstatic missive from the Long Beach, CA rock band. Other than that, I'm not really sure, though they sure dovetail into a disturbing picture of mindless consumption and television brain rot, like the place where the detritus under your mattress meets the darker recesses of your advertisement-saturated subconscious.
