FX has announced that season three of American Crime Story, Ryan Murphy's hit true-crime anthology show, will be titled Impeachment: American Crime Story and focus on the Monica Lewinsky scandal and President Bill Clinton's subsequent impeachment. As The Hollywood Reporter points out, Booksmart star Beanie Feldstein will star as Monica Lewinsky, while Sarah Paulson will star as Sarah Tripp and Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones. The series is an adaptation of Jeffery Toobin's A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President.
"Impeachment: American Crime Story will likewise explore the overlooked dimensions of the women who found themselves caught up in the scandal and political war that cast a long shadow over the Clinton presidency," FX president John Landgraf said in a statement.
