The Voidz share “Did My Best,” co-produced by Mac DeMarco
Kirin J. Callinan was also brought in to produce the songs, out now on a new 7”.
The Voidz, an art-rock band led by Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas, have returned with a new song called "Did My Best," co-produced by Mac DeMarco and Kirin J. Callinan. The new song appears in a nearly-eleven-minute music video directed by Johann Rashid, along with another DeMarco/Callinan-produced song, "The Eternal Tao 2.0," which contains Casablancas attempting a patois.
In the video, The Voidz fraternize with a pair of sex dolls amidst a collection of psychedelic screensavers. “This video is inspired by a nonexistent Fellini TV show mixed with a futuristic timecop-party vibe," the band wrote in a statement. "How do humans interact with robots/non-DNA carrying entities and how do said entities interact with us? Are we teaching them? Are they teaching us? Or is it all more sinister....”
