Later this month Netflix will launch Miss Americana, director Lana Wilson's new documentary movie about Taylor Swift. The official logline describes it as "a raw and emotionally revealing" doc set during "a transformational period" in Swift's life. The first trailer for the film is available now and can be streamed above.
Miss Americana was at the heart of a debate over Swift's back catalog last year. Swift claimed that Scooter Braun, who owns the masters of her first six albums, had refused Wilson and her team the rights to use songs in the documentary. She added that Braun would only change this stance if Swift agreed to stop criticizing him and assure him she will never re-record her albums, thus cheapening his assets. It was subsequently reported that the rights were cleared “within a timely manner.”
Swift’s latest album, Lover, arrived last August. She is on tour throughout 2020 and will headline U.K. festival Glastonbury for the first time in June.
