The Breathing Effect trip out at home for the “In The Morning”

The Breathing Effect is the Los Angeles-based duo of Harry Terrell and Eli Goss. Together, they make music that's not quite post-rock, not really beat-scene jazz, and certainly not psychedelic ambient — but you can't accurately describe their sound without mentioning all of them. The music video for their tear-jerking new song "In The Morning" premieres today on The FADER, and the Jordan McAfee-Hahn-directed video depicts lonely figures in a lava lamp-hued house. In sync with the song's twinkling synths, the bodies zip around rooms in FOMO-friendly postures.

"There are a couple of themes that we were feeling during the making of this record," The Breathing Effect said in a statement, "including wanting, loneliness, and growth, and they're all obviously linked. 'In The Morning' in particular is about wanting something really bad that you can't have and accepting that, and hopefully growing from it."

The Breathing Effect's new album Photosynthesis is out March 27.
