Fousheé shares new song “double standard”
It’s the New Jersey singer’s first offering since her 2021 debut album time machine.
Two years ago, Fousheé's voice went viral as an uncredited vocal sample on Sleepy Hallow's hit single "Deep End Freestyle." In an interview with The FADER from around that time, the New Jersey singer talked about seeing the song blow up right in front of her and struggling to be recognized for her contributions. Last year, she shared her debut album time machine, where she began stepping into her own with airy, lovesick ballads and dreamy suites like "candy grapes." Today, Fousheé has returned with "double standard," her first new song since time machine. Check it out above.
Fousheé said the following about the song in a press release: “‘double standard’ is addressing outdated gender roles that I have experienced in past relationships and rebelling against them. The imbalance frustrates me. Don’t expect anything from me that you wouldn’t give me, including respect and loyalty. I match energy."
Fousheé recently featured on "Skinny Dip," a highlight from ZelooperZ's recent project Get WeT.Radio.
