Big Yavo is a TikTok star twice over now, with his 2021 tracks “Rich” and “HIM” both going viral. But with his sixth album-length project in just over two-and-a-half years, the 24-year-old emcee from Birmingham, Alabama has proven he’s much more than a flash-in-the-pan sensation. On “Still Eating Noodles,” a clear standout from the heart of the record, he raps about continuing the hustle even as he steps into the life of a famous rapper. Arkansas’ Bankroll Freddie joins him on top of a throwback west coast instrumental from Jonny that retains a dirty south swagger with its trunk-rattling trap drums. “Tired of these hoes, so I pull up in Chevy / Peanut butter the guts, that’s the reason they jealous,” he raps on the hook, each bar spilling over into the next one. “Reach for this necklace, I send you to heaven / Big bank roll on me, in the bitch with Freddie.”
