In February, The 1975 frontman Matty Healy appeared on an episode of The Adam Friedland Show, a podcast hosted by comedians Adam Friedland and Nick Mullen. Healy came under fire from fans for racially charged jokes he made and laughed at on the episode, including one in which Bronx rapper Ice Spice is incorrectly referred to as Hawaiian, Inuit, and Chinese, followed by impressions of those accents by the two hosts. As of today, the episode has been removed from Spotify and Apple Podcasts. It remains on YouTube. The new was first reported by Stereogum.

Meanwhile, as Stereogum also reports and public records confirm, Healy’s position as director of the label Dirty Hit has been terminated. Dirty Hit has yet to respond to The FADER’s request for comment, while a representative of The 1975 declined to discuss the situation on the record.
