“If you look good, act bad” might be the platonic ideal of a summer slogan — a simple mantra that can be used to write off bad behavior as the weather gets steamy. With this emphatic statement of intent, Diddy, City Girls, and Fabolous are laying it all on the line in an attempt to do for summer 2023 what Meg, Nicki, and Ty did for summer 2019: provide an unimpeachable summer anthem for rash decisions and guilt-free entanglements.
“Act Bad” is a loud and lascivious track that one automatically imagines blaring from club speakers and out of car windows the instant the beat hits. Its instantly catchy chorus is provided by City Girls, with each of the song’s marquee acts taking a verse (City Girls’ Yung Miami and JT trade bars on theirs). The new song comes with an appropriately horny visual treatment directed by Kid Art. Check it out above. (Though all actual nudity in the clip is blurred out, it would still be wiser to watch it away from the judgmental gaze of polite society. The FADER apologizes to anyone who may have hit play in the company of older or younger relatives before reading the post. Happy Memorial Day to all.)
