The festival’s founder gave an hour-long, career-spanning performance at Dodger Stadium last weekend.

Tyler, the Creator took the stage at Dodger Stadium Saturday night (November 11) to perform a 64-minute set for an enthusiastic Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival crowd. This past weekend marked the ninth iteration of the festival, founded by Tyler in 2012. It ran every subsequent year until the COVID pandemic forced a three-year hiatus from 2020 through 2022.

Standing in a makeshift junkyard complete with a ~30-foot crane, Tyler kicked the show off with a frenetic performance of “LEMONHEAD,” a cut from his Grammy-winning 2021 album Call Me If You Get Lost (The FADER’s second favorite album of that year).

He ended the track abruptly to welcome Camp Flog Gnaw’s attendees. “Sup, dickheads?” he began, drawing a roar of approval from the audience. “It’s been three fucking years.

“COVID fucked us, bro,” he continued after a pause. “Didn’t give us a towel, didn’t call to see if we made it home safe, just fucked us. And to think that this thing is not a tangible item, it’s not something you can just ‘like.’ Three, four years later, and y’all motherfuckers still care to come to this shit. It truly means so fucking much to me and the team.” The crowd, of course, went wild.

Following his speech, Tyler played two more Call Me tracks, “WUSYANAME” and “LUMBERJACK,” before jumping back in time to play tracks from every album in his catalog except 2015’s Cherry Bomb. Highlights included his 2011 breakout track, “Yonkers,” and the IGOR cut “NEW MAGIC WAND,” for which he brought out a double-barreled flamethrower.
