Anthology Editions announces new Arthur Russell book
Written and compiled by Richard King, Travels Over Feeling: Arthur Russell, A Life will be the first book on Russell’s life published with the permission of his estate.

A new book on Arthur Russell is coming soon. Written by Richard King with support from Russell’s estate, Travels Over Feeling: Arthur Russell, A Life pulls from a largely unpublished archive of photos, drawings, lyrics, letters, and handwritten scores — in addition to King’s text and interviews with Russell’s collaborators — to piece together a brilliant musical innovator gone far too soon.
“Uncovering the riches of Arthur’s archives was as immersive and intimate an experience as listening to his music,” King writes in a press release. “I have endeavored to produce a book that provides the reader with a similar sense of discovery and wonder.”
Travels Over Feeling: Arthur Russell, A Life is scheduled for publication on April 16, 2024 with Anthology Editions. See the book’s cover below.

Earlier this year, Audika Records released Picture of Bunny Rabbit, an intimate record compiling nine previously unavailable tracks from the tapes that preceded Russell’s seminal 1986 album, World of Echo.
