Everyone knows Charli xcx is in her movie era and it seems one of Hollywood's biggest directors is keen to help her on that journey. Per Deadline, Greta Gerwig is eyeing Charli for a role in her upcoming movie, Narnia.
Nothing is confirmed at this stage, with reps for both Greta and Charli declining to comment on the rumors. According to the trade publication, though, Charli is "understood to be among top choices for a key role" with Jadis, The White Witch mentioned as a possibility.
Narnia, an adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia, was first announced by Netflix in 2018, with Gerwig coming on board as director in 2020.
The production remains in early stages with little information besides the fact it will be screened in IMAX theaters available. Earlier this week it was suggested that Oscar-winner and Anora breakout Mikey Madison could also appear in some capacity.
There is some history between the director and pop star with one of Charli's many vehicle-themed songs, "Speed Drive," appearing on the Barbie soundtrack back in 2023.
Charli xcx won five BRIT Awards at this year's ceremony, which was held in London earlier this month. She was also confirmed to perform at this year's Glastonbury festival. In addition to a possible role in Narnia, she is confirmed to be appearing in a host of exciting new movies including Romain Gavras’ Sacrifice and Gregg Araki’s I Want Your Sex.
