Charli XCX has dropped “2099,” a new Troye Sivan collaboration from her forthcoming third record Charli and a sequel to its first single “1999,” also a Sivan collab. Befitting its name, “2099” is a sleek, futuristic pop track that sounds years away from “1999.” The song is the final track on Charli, and was first performed at Charli and Sivan’s Go West Fest in LA earlier this year. The song follows singles “Blame It On Your Love” featuring Lizzo, “Gone” featuring Christine and the Queens, “Cross You Out” featuring Sky Ferreira, “Warm” featuring HAIM, and “February 2017” featuring Clairo and Yaeji.
